Teenager faces the chop for cancer charity

Teenager Niamh Fearnley is set to chop off her long locks to raise money for Cancer Research UK.
Niamh, 16, of Nunn’s View, Featherstone, plans to have her hair cut on Sunday March 17 and as well as being sponsored to raise money for the charity, she is also planning to donate her hair to be made into a wig for a child receiving chemotherapy.
Niamh said: “It’s going to be about an inch long all over, I’m a little bit nervous, but excited. My family’s really proud of me and are supporting me.”
She was inspired to go for the chop in memory of her grandfather, who died of lung cancer in 2004, and will be cutting her hair off on the anniversary of his death.
