Long delays on M62 after lorry crash

RUSH hour motorway traffic was brought to a standstill this morning after a serious crash involving a heavy goods vehicle saw animal feed spread across three lanes of the M62.

The smash happened just after 4.30am and is understood to have involved an HGV which had collided with a the central reservation close to Junction 30 of the M62 westbound near Normanton.

Police told the Express the crash had resulted in serious injuries to the male HGV driver and that animal feed had been spilled across all three lanes.

The HIghways Agency said M62 was closed in both directions between junctions 30 and 31 due to a serious accident and the road was expected to re-open from 11am.

The crash was expected to cause heavy delays in both directions.
