Classic pantomime Mother Goose will entertain audiences in Pontefract in the new year.

St Giles’ and St Mary’s Pantomime Society is staging the show at Pontefract Town Hall from January 12 to 17.

The show will feature Eric Arundell in the title role of warm-hearted goose farmer Mother Goose, with principal girl Ellie Lightowler as Jill and long-standing principal boy Alison Knox as Colin.

Magical Goose Priscilla will be played by Adam Lovell who will take on his first principal role for the part.

Amy Charlotte, the society’s publicity officer, said: “Everything has started to come together and it’s looking like this will be one of our best shows yet.

“We have a lot of new, young cast members and it’s going to be a real fun, family production and I’m sure everyone will enjoy the experience.”

Tickets for the show are now on sale and can be bought from St Giles’ Church, Pontefract, on Wednesdays from 10am to 1pm and Fridays and Saturdays from 10am to noon.
