Murder trial date set

A MAN has appeared at court charged with the murder of a Pontefract pensioner.

Wayne Moffitt, 39, pleaded not guilty at Leeds Crown Court on Friday to killing 71-year-old Geoffrey Bradburn in April this year.

Recorder of Leeds Judge Peter Collier QC set the date for a five day trial beginning on October 31.

Moffitt, of Minden Way, Pontefract, was remanded in custody.
