A newly-opened nursery in Airedale is celebrating its success after receiving a good rating from its first Ofsted inspection.

Little Stars Nursery, which is based at Redhill Infant School on Queen’s Park Drive, was inspected just six months after it opened in November.

Inspectors praised the nursery for its educational programmes, monitoring and assessment and children’s good behaviour.

Laura Rotherforth, who runs the nursery, said: “I’m very pleased with the report, it’s very positive, especially within six months of us opening.

“I’ve worked in Airedale for nine years and I’m quite passionate about it.

“Everything is always developing, we’ve got a lovely outdoor area we are planning to improve, maybe create an allotment.

“We are getting quite a lot of feedback from parents and they are really pleased with the service they are getting and the Ofsted report.”

The one area of improvement was to provide large scale play equipment outdoors.

Laura added: “We’ve got that now and we’re just waiting to get it installed. It was on my ‘to do’ list.”
