OLYMPIC torch bearer Frankie Townend will tread the boards – along with her torch – when she stars in Kippax Amateur Operatic Society’s pantomime Sleeping Beauty from tomorrow.

Frankie, who carried the torch through Castleford, is the principal boy in the panto, which is performed at Airedale’s Phoenix Theatre from Friday January 11 to Saturday January 19.

The show is a traditional panto with goodies and baddies galore, plus new and old songs.

There are three matinees, on Saturday January 12, Sunday January 13 and Saturday January 19 at 2.15pm, as well as evening performances on Friday January 11 and then from Tuesday January 15 to Saturday January 19 at 7.15pm.

Visit www.kaos1.co.uk for more information or to book tickets, which cost £11.
