Youngsters in Knottingley raised hundreds of pounds to pay for a residential trip when they held a sponsored bag pack in the town.
The Old Quarry Adventure Playground, on Sycamore Avenue, plans trips and days out for youngsters on the Warwick Estate.
A team of 17 youngsters and four volunteers raised £714.91 when they held the bag pack at the Morrisons store, on Marine Villa Road, on Sunday October 19.
Michelle Bartram, senior playworker at the playground, which is funded by the Big Lottery, said: “This year we haven’t been able to take the children away anywhere due to a lack of funding.
“In the past we’ve had trips to Scarborough and Flamingo Land and I would like to take them on a residential trip with this money.”
Mrs Bartram said she wanted to thank Morrisons for allowing them to hold the bag pack.
