I HAVE no allegiance to any political party, I have slammed all political parties as they forget the voters and just become faceless officials until it’s time for us to vote again.
The councillors in Featherstone have come up with an innovative idea – an ‘estate walk’ to get up close and personal with the voters to find out what it is that concerns people in the estates and if they can fix the problem.
This allows people such as the disabled, pensioners, and people whose time is at a premium and are unable to attend council surgeries, to give their views.
It shows our councillors may have woken up from their complacent attitude and seen that the voters matter more now from one election to the next than they did in the past.
Well done Featherstone councillors.
