Nearly 100 scooters and motorbikes gathered at Xscape on Sunday to help raise cash for Yorkshire Air Ambulance.
Members of Pontefract Scooter Club and Doncaster Harley- Davidson group the St Leger HOG joined forces with Pontefract and Knottingley neighbourhood policing team (NPT) to organise the rally.
Bikers met at Xscape to collect cash for the charity, before setting off on a 25-mile parade around the area, complete with police escort, arriving at the Railway Inn pub on Mill Dam Lane in Pontefract for a fun day.
PC Ian Heaslip, of the NPT, who helped organise the event, said: “We were worried about the weather spoiling it and putting people off, but we had nearly 100 scooters and Harley-Davidsons turn up, and everyone enjoyed it at the pub too.”
All the riders paid £3 to take part in the event, with more money raised from fun day, which included live music, bouncy castle, raffle and food, along with all the bikes on display. The day raised £1,700 for the air ambulance.
PC Heaslip added: “We also received £230 from an off-road biking team. Each time someone comes off their bike they make a charity donation, and after hearing about this event, they decided to give what they’ve collected to us.”
