Award-winning beer writer Roger Protz is giving a talk at a Castleford pub.
Mr Protz, who edits The Good Beer Guide, will be hosting a tasting session at The Junction on Carlton Street from 7.45pm on Thursday, June 26.
He will be discussing beers drawn from wooden casks, which landlord Neil Midgely specialises in serving.
There will be a chance to try the same beers from plastic or metal casks so customers can taste the difference from ales served in wooden whisky or wine casks.
The pub, which will be celebrating its fourth birthday, will also have music on the Friday and stage a beer festival over the weekend.
The beer talk is free but the event will raise funds for Mr Protz’s chosen charity, Stop The Traffik.
