A retro night of music and dancing helped raise money for a little boy who can’t walk.
Friends Joan Leese and Sandra Pointon organised a 60s-themed fundraising event for three-year-old Alex Craven, who was born with cerebral palsy.
The night, at Roundhill Working Men’s Club in Castleford, was the sixth fundraising event the pair have organised in as many years.
The event raised more than £1,300 for Alex.
Organiser Sandra Pointon said: “Everyone at the event said it was a great night out and without those amazing supporters we would not be able to raise the money.
“The music was great and staff at the venue were amazing too.”
Alex, who lives in Glass Houghton, is undergoing groundbreaking therapy three times a year to help with his condition.
The women have raised more than £8,000 through a string of events for charities including the Yorkshire Air Ambulance, Pontefract’s Prince of Wales Hospice and Helping Arts.
