Teenage equestrian champ Jessica Beachill will be riding for Great Britain when she competes in the Pony Club Mounted Games in Canada in August.

Jessica, 15, of Rigg Lane, East Hardwick, was chosen as part of the five-strong squad, after representing England at the Royal Windsor Horse Show last May on her horse Inka.

Her mum Nicola said: “I’m absolutely delighted. There’s only two from England who’ve been selected, and for her to be one of them is amazing, and she deserves it.”

King’s School pupil Jessica has ridden for the Badsworth branch of the Pony Club for the past seven years and also rides for Ackworth Riding Club.
