Stars of the rugby field took time out from training to help raise cash for their club’s community fund.

Featherstone Rovers players Ian Hardman and Jack Bussey popped into their local bank as part of a fundraising drive.

The Yorkshire Bank on Station Lane offered up their facilities to the Post Office Road players following a recent refurbishment of the site.

Laurabeth Jaggar, head of community development for the Featherstone Rovers Foundation, said: “Yorkshire Bank has always been very supportive of the Foundation, so we thought it would be nice to send some players down. They were well received and it’s nice the bank recognised that we’re doing a lot for charity.”

The bank has had a facelift and now has disabled access. Businesses and good causes are being encourage to use the banking hall to promote themselves.
