Entries are still being accepted for the third annual Osgoldcross and Elmet Rotary Club Dragon Boat Challenge which takes place in Knottingley later this month.

The event, in which teams of friends, businesses and other groups compete in a series of races, takes place at the Knottingley Ampitheatre on Bank Holiday Monday, May 27.

Last year’s race saw 12 teams take part and more than 2,000 people caught a glimpse of the action over the course of the day.

Organiser Christ Lovett, of the Osgoldcross and Elmet Rotary Club, said: “We are still looking for three more teams. Nine teams have already signed up and are really looking forward to it.

“Each team does it for their own charity or cause. It’s a great family day out and it’s something very different for Knottingley.

“Everyone will have a minimum of three races and there will also be lots of stalls and entertainment on the day.”

For more information or to enter a team call Chris or Mark Lovett on 01977 620766 or email osgolddragon@aol.com

Organisers can only accept a maximum of 12 teams and registrations will be on a first come first served basis.
