Festive fundraisers will be getting dressed up as Father Christmas for the Prince Of Wales Hospice’s annual Santa Dash.

The 2.5 mile event will take place from 11 am on Sunday, December 14. Dashers will be welcomed over the finish line with mince pies, buns and drinks.

Registration is open until December 8, although runners can also sign up on the day from 10.15am. Teams of up to six will also be able to register for the first time.

Emma Priestley, hospice fundraiser, said: “It’s amazing that this event has been going for so long. It originally started out as something we did at Pontefract Park. In the third year we moved it to the hospice and it’s been here ever since. We even have the fantastic Mrs Santa and her helpers in our grotto for the day.”
