Youngsters at Fairburn Community Primary School can now enjoy a breakfast and after-school club for the new school term.

The school is offering the two new clubs for pupils for the first time this year.

The new facilities follow the news that all infant children will get free school lunches from next September.

Emma Cornhill, headteacher at the school, said: “It’s really important for children to have a good, nutritious breakfast before school.

“We were very keen to set both sessions up so people in the village have access to child care when they need it.”

The breakfast club runs from 8am until school starts at 8.45am.

After-school child care runs until 5.30pm.

Mrs Cornhill said: “Offering these sessions is extending our service to the community and offering parents child care at a reasonable cost.”
