Youngsters from St Joseph’s Catholic Primary School, in Castleford, and The Rookeries, in Pontefract, have helped break a world record.
Students helped break the Guinness world record for the most people performing sign language simultaneously in different locations at the Sign2Sing event.
The schools helped raise £130 for SignHealth which works to improve the mental and physical health of deaf people.
Steve Powell, chief executive at SignHealth, the healthcare charity for deaf people, said: “We are absolutely thrilled to have broken the world record for the third year running.
“We’re extremely grateful as all of the money raised will make a significant contribution to the work of the charity.”
