A recruitment day for potential employees at a new waste treatment facility in South Kirkby is being held on Thursday, November 13.
Shanks is looking to recruit a number of employees for the facility, which is currently being built at South Kirkby Business Park, on the former colliery site.
The centre will be operated by Shanks as part of a 25-year contract with Wakefield Council.
It will be capable of generating green electricity and will have a range of different facilities to recycle and treat waste from across the Wakefield district.
The recruitment drive is aiming to employ a number of different skilled workers, including a loading shovel driver, a team leader, a fork lift truck driver, a shift supervisor, a labourer cleaner, a control room operator and a site engineering team. People will be able to apply for the jobs on the day.
The event will take place at Langthwaite House, Langthwaite Road, South Kirkby, from 9am to 7pm on Thursday, November 13.
