Head coach Jon Sharp believes he has something to build on at Featherstone Rovers and has ruled out a “mass exodus” of players in the off season.

After changing almost an entire team of players last year Rovers are aiming for more stability this time round, although they are expecting to bring in several new signings to bolster the squad for the 2017 campaign.

Sharp explained: “There won’t be a mass exodus like there was last year.

“Last year there wasn’t much to build on if I’m being honest. We changed 16 players and brought 11 in and that’s been a success in getting us into the middle 8s.

“Now we need to look at putting some more high quality players in there who are regularly playing well.

“I think there’s a bit of inconsistency in things the team’s doing so I need to make some changes.

“I found out about some of the players in this play-off series. Some are and some aren’t good enough to take us to that next level. If they’re not then we’ll make some changes and some tough calls on people who have been really important for the club.”
