Residents, veterans, servicemen and women, cadets and flag bearers have remembered those who made the ultimate sacrifice serving their country.
Thousands of people turned out to commemorate Remembrance Day on Sunday and Armistice Day on Wednesday at services across the district.
Coun Sandra Pickin, the district’s armed forces champion, said: “It’s just great to know that as a district people of all ages are so grateful to those who have given their lives defending our country.
“From the cadets who hope to make it into the forces to the veterans who have served - the support was unbelievable.”
