A chance to gunge Featherstone Rovers stars saw almost a thousand people turn out for Featherstone Rovers’ community gala.
The annual event, which took place on May Day Monday, May 5, raised more than £1,800 for the club’s foundation, which works with youngsters across the area.
As well as the chance to sponge Rovers players, stalls, live entertainment and fairground rides attracted the crowds to the club’s Big Fellas Stadium for the gala.
Laurabeth Jagger, head of community development, said: “It went really well and we were really pleased with the turnout.
“It raised around £1,800 for the foundation and then there were a lot of not-for-profit organisations there too who between them raised a further £1,000.
“The money and the gala is really important to us because it is unrestricted funding and it allows us to continue working in schools and with youngsters across the area.
“I’d like to thank everybody who came and all of the organisations and stallholders. Everybody supported us on the day and it was just a fantastic day.”
