Sunshine saw the crowds flock to a nursery’s fun day in Whitwood.
More than 400 people turned out for Hillside Day Nursery’s first ever summer fun day.
The event, which featured craft stalls, a tombola and a book stall, raised more than £1,000 for the KIDS charity – which supports disabled children.
Rachael Hill, manager of the nursery, said: “It was an absolutely amazing day. It went so much better than we were hoping for.
“We have done events like this before but this was the first time we have opened it up to the public.
“But the event proved so successful we are going to make it into an annual event.”
The KIDS charity was chosen as Mrs Hill’s three-year-old son Tommy receives support from the charity.
