THE next stage in a fundraising marathon for Pontefract toddler Jaiden Worrall has been announced.
Jaiden’s parents, Lee Worrall and Claire Belcher, are facing a possible £200,000 operation to cure their 21 month-old son’s neuroblastoma, a rare form of abdominal cancer.
Now Kev Spears, a colleague of Lee at Castleford Lock Lane Rugby League Club, is challenging people to swim a sponsored mile, all at once or in stages, between now and July 21.
Mr Spears said: “We’re calling it Swim 4 Jaiden and on Saturday, July 21 we’ll have free use of Castleford swimming pool for an hour, starting at 3pm.”
Swim 4 Jaiden session will be followed by a fundraising evening at the Smawthorne Hotel, on Smawthorne Lane, Castleford.
Sponsor forms are available from Castleford Lock Lane Sports Centre or by calling Mr Spears on 01977 731832 or 07827 491498.
