LITTLE waiters and waitresses served up a special feast for parents at a restaurant-style school event.
Year six leavers from Badsworth Junior and Infant School whipped up a three-course meal with the help of kitchen staff and Friends of Badsworth School.
The youngsters laid tables, greeted parents, and served the meals as part of their leaving celebrations.
Pauline Scott, kitchen manager, said: “The children were fantastic, they were little stars and they all enjoyed it and the parents were delighted. The pupils just wanted to do something a bit different and special for their parents.”
Pupils helped prepare the vegetables but left Mrs Scott to the task of making 56 portions of melon or spicy wedges and dip to start, roast chicken, vegetarian pasta or spaghetti bolognese for the main, and strawberries and cream or cheese and crackers for dessert.
Staff from nearby Rogerthorpe Manor instructed the children in table-setting, napkin folding and waiting tables, while Whiteley’s Butchers of Upton and Kingswood Catering both donated food to the occasion.
Mrs Scott said as a thank you to everyone involved, the students donated profits made to the school fund.
