A SCHOOL cook is urging residents to find their nearest World’s Biggest Coffee Morning and help raise cash for a cancer charity.

Pauline Scott, 60, will host her seventh annual coffee morning in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support at Badsworth CE J&I school on Friday September 30.

The school cook has raised almost £1,200 since she started the event for teaching staff and hopes others will follow suit with donations and support.

Mrs Scott said: “You don’t have to do your own coffee morning to help Macmillan.

“People can help by sending donations to the school and donating cakes and prizes to the raffle. We would like to hit the £200 mark this year.”

Mrs Scott got involved with the charity after a cancer scare ten years ago. Though she was disease-free, the Macmillan nurses were there to give help and support.

Mrs Scott said: “This is a little bit I can do to help. You just never known if you’ll need them in that way. It’s something worth supporting.”
