ON Saturday October 22 people from all across Yorkshire and Humberside will be heading to Leeds to take part in a Hardest Hit protest against cuts to disability benefits and services.
I would like to encourage Express readers to go along and speak out for disabled people on the anniversary of the government’s comprehensive spending review, in which it promised to protect the most vulnerable when making cuts.
Importantly, this protest is also taking place as the welfare reform bill, which will in its current form significantly reduce benefits for disabled people, continues to go through parliament.
Visit www.hardesthit.org.uk for information on the protest, which will start at 1pm outside the Leeds City Art Gallery on The Headrow.
