A FUNDRAISING mum is calling on tots to take on the ‘Big Toddle’ in aid of Pontefract youngster Jaiden Worrall, who has a rare form of stomach cancer.
Elizabeth Carr, 28, has organised the sponsored walking event on August 1 to help the youngster’s family pay for a life-saving operation abroad to treat the 22-month old’s neuroblastoma.
Mrs Carr, of Holywell Lane, Castleford, decided to organise the charity event as Jaiden’s parents, Lee Worrall and Claire Belcher are family friends.
She said: “My eldest daughter Connie will be three in November and my younger daughter Evelyn will be two in March.
“Jaiden is in the middle of them so it’s hit a bit close to home.
“The Big Toddle is for anyone and everyone, we want children to take part and for people to have a nice family day out and raise more awareness for Jaiden.”
The event will take place at Glass Houghton Healthy Living Centre on Leeds Road at 2pm.
There will be family activities and the walk starts at 3pm, with a walk around the cricket pitch for young children and a walk around the football pitch for older children.
Mrs Carr has promoted the event on Facebook and is hoping for at least 100 youngsters to take part.
