Asda worker Tom Johnson had a close shave after agreeing to cut off his long locks to support the store’s Tickled Pink breast cancer charity.

Tom, 24, who works in the chilled food department at the Glass Houghton store, decided to get his head shaved to raise cash for the charity, enlisting the help of his colleagues, family and friends to raise nearly £400 in sponsorship.

Louise Brown, community event organiser, said: “He was very nervous, he’s had long hair for absolutely years, it was right down to his bottom, but he just wanted to do something to support the Tickled Pink charity.”
