The Tour de France Grand Depart trophy will go on show in Wakefield next week.
It will be on display at Wakefield Museum, in Wakefield One at Burton Street from Tuesday, May 6 until Saturday, May 10.
The trophy is held each year by the area or city hosting the start of the legendary cycle race.
It has already been on display in Bradford, Harrogate, Richmond, and Calderdale.
The countdown to the Grand Départ on July 5 will feature a 100-day cultural festival celebrating the best of the region’s culture including some artists from the Wakefield district.
Residents feeling inspired by Le Tour de France can take part in a host of cycle-related activities planned across the district this summer.
There is a group-led cycle ride taking place every weekend from now until September through the Wakefield District Cycle Forum and the SkyRide Local ride scheme.
David Keighley, from Wakefield District Cycle Forum, said: “It’s brilliant to have the Tour de France trophy come to Wakefield. Of course you don’t have to cycle long distances to join in the fun – there are many Wakefield Cycle Forum events coming up.”
