The number of people claiming out-of-work benefits across the Pontefract and Castleford area for the third consecutive month last month.
There were 3,322 people claiming Jobseekers’ Allowance (JSA) in the Five Towns in June, the latest figures from the Office for National Statistics show.
The figure is more than 400 less than the number of those claiming the benefit in March.
But the number of young people who have been out-of-work for a year or more remained the same.
There were 165 16 to 24-year-olds who had been out-of-work for a year or more in June.
Nationally, there were 2.51m people out of work last month.
