This quaint colour film offers a snapshot of Pontefract life in the 1960s.
The Express unearthed this hidden gem, created by Jack Johnson in 1968, from YouTube.
Though lengthy at 32 minutes, ‘This is Pontefract’ is well worth the watch for its unique glimpse into the past.
Among its features are scenic shots of the town’s monuments, people boating on the lake, a visit from the fairground and youngsters enjoying pram racing.
