TEENAGE singer Frances Wood could get the chance to perform in front of millions of people as the new television talent show The Voice goes on tour.
The winner of the competition and their fellow final seven contestants from the most talked about programme of the year will hit the road this autumn and will be stopping off at the Motorpoint Arena in Sheffield.
Frances, 18, of Wrenthorpe, is down to the final 16 contestants and will need to make it to the final if she wants to appear on the live tour.
She is part of a team coached by Black Eyed Peas rapper Will.i.am.
The other mentors are Jessie J, The Script’s Danny O’Donoghue and legend Sir Tom Jones.
After singing live on television for the first time, Frances said: “I would love to do that all the time.
“It felt like I was doing it at a concert and it is something I would love to do.
“I am proud of where I come from and am the only one left from Yorkshire and the North.
“I want to make Wakefield and Yorkshire proud.”
The tour arrives in Sheffield on Thursday, September 27.
Tickets, priced £35, went on sale last Friday, and are available from the arena on 0114 256 5656.
