Residents are being asked to choose their favourite council worker from a shortlist of four.
Paul Dunn, commissionaire at Wakefield Town and County halls, senior tourism officer Hazel Birdsall, business manager Mick McKigney and Susan Worrall, countryside ranger at Lofthouse Colliery Nature Park, have all been nominated for People’s Choice Award at Wakefield Council’s Pride Awards.
The award gives residents a chance to say thank you to council employees who go the extra mile, either through their job or within the community or for charity. The Pride Awards, which is funded through the council’s business partners and organisations, recognises the very best of what council employees do for the Wakefield district and its residents.
To vote, visit www.wakefield.gov.uk/prideawards, email email@example.com or call 08458 506506. The closing date for votes is Friday, August 30. You can also write to Pride Awards freepost NEA5394 Room 6, Town Hall, Wood Street, Wakefield WF1 2BR. The winner will be announced at the Pride Awards ceremony on Friday, September 13. The winner will be presented with an engraved award and certificate.
