A grand finale ball helped bring an end to a year of fundraising for a cancer charity.
Sisters Rachael Parkin and Susie Webb and their friend Ellie Wood have held a number of fundraising events in an effort to raise £3,000 for Yorkshire Cancer Research.
The trio - who called themselves the Yorkshire Girls - raised more than £1,000 at the charity ball on Saturday which helped them smash their fundraising target.
Mrs Parkin said: “We had more than 150 people turn up for the event and it went really well.
“Everyone had a great time and people who came were very generous.”
The trio embarked on their fundraising challenge last year and their first event was a baking competition in Wakefield.
They have also done sponsored runs, half-marathons and other fundraising events. Mrs Parkin, 33, added: “It has been a really special year.
“The response and support we’ve had from people has been overwhelming.
“We can’t thank people enough for the support they have shown us.”
The charity ball saw the trio’s total reach £3,064.
The ball, at Featherstone Rovers’ Big Fellas stadium, featured music from the band Rough Diamond, an auction and a magic show by Craig Roe.
