While walking through Pontefract on Thursday June 27, I was thrilled to hear the school choirs singing in the market place.
As I approached I saw a local British Legion contingent and their standard bearer.
I am a Royal Navy veteran of 24 years service and was moved by the demonstration of loyalty and appreciation for our armed services, past and present.
A fellow veteran and friend is a member of the Military Wives choir and I sent her a link to the Express video online – she was very complimentary and praised the spirited rendition of the song.
Thank you children, for making my day, we appreciate your support and hard work.
