A FESTIVE group of residents in Airedale joined together to weave Christmas wreaths in time for the Yuletide season.
South West Yorkshire Partnership NHS Foundation Trust ran the community group at Airedale Library and Learning Centre, in The Square, on Monday for residents to create a variety of Christmas-themed decorations.
Ellen Dempsey, health and wellbeing development worker at the trust, said: “Everyone has really enjoyed the session and managed to make a wreath which will look great over the Christmas period.
“These sort of workshops are great for physical and mental wellbeing. It is important to get out of the house and try something new, and everyone was very proud of their wreaths.”
The trust runs a variety of weekly classes at the centre, including silk painting and games console sessions.
Mrs Dempsey added: “We have run these classes since October to give residents a chance to interact with each other and experience different activities within their communities.
“We have done a lot of different things that have gone down really well, including bowling on the Nintendo Wii games console.
“We are hoping to continue well into the new year as long as everyone who attends wants to keep the group going.”
Seven members regularly attend the sessions on Monday from 1.30pm to 3.30pm.
