Cancer PC's guard of honour
POLICE officers formed a guard of honour in touching tribute to Pontefract colleague Andrew Henderson, who died aged 43 after a battle with cancer.
Dozens of mourners watched fellow bobbies form the tribute at a packed funeral service in the town's St Giles' Church on Tuesday.
Dad-of-two PC Henderson – who worked across the Five Towns during his 22 year career with West Yorkshire Police – died on Saturday April 12.
Ch Supt Marc Callaghan, divisional commander of Wakefield District Police, said: "Andy dedicated his entire career to serving communities in Castleford, Knottingley and Pontefract.
"He was well known and respected by many people."
