Centurion's school visit

YOUNGSTERS at Pontefract's Carleton Park Junior and Infant School learned about Roman history at a special event.
The year three and four pupils had a surprise visit from Roman centurion Maximus who give the youngsters tips on Roman warfare, armour and weapons and the chance to play Roman boardgames.

Moira Neil Sawyer, headteacher, said: “The whole day was a great success. It made learning about the past both fascinating and fun.”
