STAFF at Castleford's McDonald's are looking forward to feeding the hungry women who complete the Prince of Wales Hospice's Starlight Walk this summer.
The fast food restaurant near the Junction 32 shopping outlet will be opening especially early to provide free breakfast for those who take part in the women-only sponsored midnight walk on Saturday July 5.

Jason Nevitt, general manager, said: “We decided to offer our support as the hospice is a very good cause and some of our staff have had friends or relatives who have spent time there.”

Nikki Hinman, fundraising manager at the Pontefract hospice, said: “We would like to thank all the staff at McDonald’s for supporting the hospice in this way.”

The circular walk will get underway at Castleford’s Junction 32 shopping outlet at midnight on July 5 and walkers will have the choice of completing one or two laps of the six-and-a-half mile course around Glass Houghton and Castleford.

Entry costs £10 and there will be no registration on the night, so anyone interested in taking part should contact the hospice fundraising team on 01977 781477 or download an entry form from www.pwh.org.uk/starlightwalk .

Walkers must be aged 14 or over and under 16s must be accompanied by an adult.

Volunteers are also needed to help at the event. For more information contact the hospice fundraising department.
