NEW signing Dwayne Barker will make his Featherstone Rovers first-team debut in Saturday's Co-operative Championship match against Toulouse Olympique at the Chris Moyles Stadium (6pm kick-off).
Utility player Barker (pictured), who joined Rovers after being released by Halifax, played for Featherstone reserves in Saturday's 62-22 win at Sheffield.
Rovers coach Daryl Powell said: "Dwayne asked to play in the reserves to get a game under his belt. He played well and had a strong game in a pretty good performance from the reserves."
After Friday's stunning 22-20 win at leaders Halifax, Rovers have set their sights on finishing second in the table.
They are aiming to complete a league double over Toulouse who they beat 32-16 in France last month.
Said Powell: "I think it is important we recognise that the win at Halifax was just one game and we shouldn't get too carried away. We must aim for more consistent performances.
"Against Halifax, I still thought that with the ball there were loads of areas we needed to improve on, although we started to get things right in the second-half.
"There is still lots of improvement in us and I think we can get a fair bit better.
"I think it is absolutely crucial we win our remaining home games. I challenged the players quite a while ago to be unbeaten at home after we'd lost a couple of matches and up to now they've stood up to that.
"We've got four home matches left and I think if we can win all of those we have a realistic chance of finishing second. It's there for us if we are capable of maintaining consistency over the last six games.
"It's a tough challenge but I think we are capable of doing it and that would give us a fantastic opportunity in the play-off series.
"We play Toulouse, Widnes, Barrow and Batley at home so there are some challenges there and it's not going to be easy. We also play Doncaster and Sheffield away."
Featherstone will be at full strength for Saturday's game.
Jon Steel suffered a knock at Halifax but he is now fully recovered and trained on Monday.
Rovers utility player Joe Hirst has joined Sheffield Eagles on loan.
Featherstone's reserve team match against Hunslet will be played as a curtain-raiser to Saturday's game (3pm kick-off). Admission will be £14 which will cover both the reserves game and the first-team fixture against Toulouse (6pm).
At Saturday's match against Toulouse, a representative of Featherstone Rovers Independent Supporters Association will be collecting jars from the previous season's spread and save campaign. He will be outside the club shop approximately one hour prior to kick off. Proceeds from returned jars will go directly towards players' contracts. A draw will be made shortly and the winner will win a pre-match meal at Rovers.
Since FRISA was formed some nine years ago, £100,000 has been raised for club funds, mostly through subscriptions. Supporters are urged to help by joining FRISA.
