A LATE try and goal by Craig Benn sealed a 20-10 victory for Castleford Panthers over Methley in the quarter-finals of the Castleford and Featherstone ARL's Edgar Hanson Workshop Cup, a competition geared towards novice or lapsed players.
Panthers' other try scorers were Nathan Dickinson, Craig Smith and Steve Gill. James Clarkson kicked one conversion.
Methley's try scorers were Sam Clark and Richard Scott. Steve Hayes landed one goal.
In other quarter-finals, All Blacks won 50-18 against Selby and Fryston beat Chequerfield 48-0.
Chris Peach and Adam Dickinson scored two tries each for Fryston. Other touchdowns went to 16-year-old Dale Evans, Shaun Goodway, Scott Horner and Gareth Handford.
Rob Gaitley and Steve Garfitt each kicked three goals.
Methley's home fixture with Selby in the Workshops Continuation Cup semi-finals will be played at Castleford Panthers on Saturday (1pm).
The game will be staged as a double-header with Panthers' Workshops Cup semi-final against the winners of last night's match between Hunslet Prospectors and Prince of Wales. Fryston visit Crigglestone All Blacks in the other semi-final on Saturday.
