KAREN Ball (pictured) of Ackworth Road Runners and Athletics Club had a good run in Sunday's Loftus Poultry Run in Cleveland.
She finished seventh in the women's race, clocking 55 minutes and two seconds over the seven-and-a-half-mile course.
Only a day earlier Ball competed in a five-mile cross country event where she finished a fine third.
Christine McCarthy continued her excellent run of form by finishing 11th in the women's race. She was first home in the women's over-45 category in 57-59.
McCarthy had already put together two outstanding performances in the last month with times of 40-44 in the Leeds Abbey Dash 10K and 66-29 in the Thirsk 10 Miles race, a time close to her personal best.
Simon Newton was the Ackworth club's first finisher at Loftus, crossing the line in 19th position out of the 493 finishers in exactly 48 minutes.
Michael Walsh was the second Ackworth finisher, 33rd position in a time of 51-01.
Other good performances came from Chris Taylor (61-12), Roy Young (62-28), Paul Zywicki (65-50), Ron Davies (66-34) and Martyn Stearn (66-56).
Other finishers from the Ackworth club were Dave Shaw (70-50), Cyril Jones (71-56), Gary Greatorex (72-07), Les Adams (76-21), Kevin Moran (77-12), Ray Atkinson (77-25), Ken Bingley (82-51), Christine Hall (83-04), John Bell (83-55), Ruth Maclean (85-36), Diane Widdowson (86-04), Karen Youel (86-04), Lynne Murgatroyd (94-35) and Stewart Haigh (94-40).
