SECOND half tries from Michael Wainwright and Michael Shenton were not enough as Castleford Tigers lost their final warm-up for the new season.
Terry Matterson's men failed to score in a first half that ended with the sharper Giants 18 points ahead following tries by Luke Robinson, Shaun Lunt and Lee Gilmour and three goals by last year's Man Of Steel, Brett Hodgson.
The hosts improved after the break when winger Wainwright dived over in the corner and Joe Westerman landed an excellent touchline conversion, but after surviving further pressure Huddersfield stretched their lead again through tries by Paul Whatuira and Josh Griffin plus another Hodgson conversion.
Castleford finally gave their supporters something to cheer four minutes from time as Shenton went over following a long pass from Rangi Chase.
