CHEQUERFIELD reached the third round of the Castleford Invitation League's Oakworth Open Cup by beating St John's Terrace 4-2 on penalties on Sunday.
The teams finished level at 2-2 at the end of normal time and were locked at 3-3 at the end of extra time but Chequerfield came out on top in a penalty shoot-out.
Sunday's other Castleford Invitation League results were:
Oakworth Open Cup (round two): Liquorice Bush 2, Thorpe Audlin 3 (after extra time); Ferrybridge Progressive 4, South Pontefract 0; Castlefields 1, Fryston 4; Early Bath 2, South Milford 3.
Bob Smith Founders Cup (preliminary round): Knottingley Railway 0, Whitwood Metrostars 1 (match played at Whitwood because Knottingley's pitch was frozen); Hark to Mopsey 1, Railway Tavern (Hensall) 7. Quarter-final: George V 5, Albion Athletic 0.
