PONTEFRACT Collieries halted their slump in NCE League Division One with Saturday's 1-1 draw at Rainsworth Miners Welfare.
Third-placed Pontefract, whose title hopes faded with four successive defeats, battled well to share the spoils with opponents two places below them in the table.
James Whitehead's 48th minute goal put Rainsworth ahead but Collieries levelled when Craig Rouse was on target 14 minutes later.
It left Collieries nine points behind leaders Scarborough Athletic who have two matches in hand.
Scarborough stayed firmly on course for the championship with a 3-0 victory at second-placed Askern Villa.
Bottom team Glasshoughton Welfare are still looking for their first league win this season after losing 5-2 to Staveley Miners Welfare at Leeds Road.
