THE confidence from notching five wins from their last six showed in Bush's latest triumph over their Castleford Invitation League Division Two opponents.
The Bushby babes, even forced into changes, created plenty of chances, with Liam Crossfield, Dean and Bridges all going close. The breakthrough came on 36 minutes when Bridges surged down the right and delivered a perfect cross for Crossfield to nod home.
Railway came into the game late in the half but Bush rode their luck to hang on at the break.
Chances came and went at both ends in the second half. Bush needed a second to settle their nerves and it came in bizarre fashion.
Under pressure from a back-pass, the visiting keeper's attempted clearance hit Crossfield on the backside and rebounded into the net.
It was a welcome stroke of luck for the home team, whose fine run continued with a first-ever clean sheet. Chris Mason was the manager's man of the match, with Crossfield getting the ref's vote.
OTHER RESULTS: Early Bath 8, Chequerfield 3; Hark to Mopsey 0, Whitwood Metrostars 4; South Milford 9, The Fox 2; Knottingley Railway 4, Garforth Sunday AFC 2.
