CASTLEFORD Panthers RLFC rugby president Brian Lloyd died on Saturday at the age of 68.
Brian was one of the founder members of the club when it was formed in 1970 as Pointer Panthers.

He was player-coach in their first match on August 23, 1970, when they defeated Queens 20-16 in the Castleford and District League.

Since then, he had played a big part in the club's success and was widely respected in the game.

Panthers PRO Paul Phelps said: "His passing is a tremendous loss but he leaves so many memories to so many people that he will be remembered for many a year."

The funeral is at Castleford Parish Church tomorrow (Friday) at 12.15pm, followed by a wake at Castleford Panthers clubhouse.
