IESTYN Harris will make his Featherstone Rovers debut in the Boxing Day friendly against Halifax FC (11am kick-off).
The former Great Britain international and all six of the club's other pre-season captures have been named in head coach Daryl Powell's 20-man squad.
Ian Hardman, Jon Steel, Tim Spears, Stuart Kain, Gareth Swift and John Fallon are set to pull on Rovers shirts for the first time as boss Powell looks to give every member of his first-team squad valuable game-time.
Of the 24 players given first-team numbers at Monday's shirt launch, only six players miss out - injured trio Andy Kirk (arm), Jamie Field (back) and Tommy Haughey (pectoral muscle), Tony Tonks (suspended), Richard Blakeway (unavailable) and Steve Dooler, who only recently returned from holiday.
Two of Rovers' most promising rookies, Matty Handforth and Danny Richardson, have been drafted in to supplement the Boxing Day squad.
Said Powell: "I was keen to get everybody out there. With us not getting into the play-offs, it's been a long pre-season and giving everyone a hit-out at this stage gives them something to focus on.
"It's also an opportunity for the new guys to link in and start to build some combinations, although I recognise we're not going to be perfect by any stretch of the imagination.
"I'm looking for mentality and attitude as much as anything, that's the most important thing at this stage. We've changed quite a lot in pre-season, including play-calls and defensive structure, and it's good for players and coaches to make sure we're heading in the right direction, which I'm pretty confident we are.
"Hopefully, there'll be plenty of positives to come out because we're not that far away now. We're more or less only five weeks away from getting into it."
The squad to face Halifax is: Tommy Saxton, Waine Pryce, Hardman, Steel, Harris, Andy Kain, Jack Lee, Stuart Dickens, Matty Dale, James Houston, Joe McLocklan, Joe Hirst, Tim Spears, Sean Hesketh, Stuart Kain, Swift, Fallon, Scott Wilson, Handforth, Richardson.
Meanwhile, ex-Castleford and Hull FC full-back Saxton was handed the number one jersey at the club's official shirt launch on Monday evening, with new-signing Hardman, who also boasts experience at full-back, given number three.
Former Castleford hooker Jack Lee has taken the number nine jersey ahead of Joe McLocklan, who missed the back end of last season through injury.
There is a still an opportunity for the club's stand-out rookie to claim a first-team slot - the number 22 jersey has been left vacant.
The full list is: 1 Tommy Saxton, 2 Waine Pryce, 3 Ian Hardman, 4 Andy Kirk, 5 Jon Steel, 6 Iestyn Harris, 7 Andy Kain, 8 Tony Tonks, 9 Jack Lee, 10 Stuart Dickens, 11 Matty Dale, 12 Jamie Field, 13 Richard Blakeway, 14 Tommy Haughey, 15 James Houston, 16 Joe McLocklan, 17 Joe Hirst, 18 Tim Spears, 19 Sean Hesketh, 20 Stuart Kain, 21 Steve Dooler, 23 Gareth Swift, 24 John Fallon, 25 Scott Wilson.
Under proposals agreed by all clubs, every Championship and Championship 1 side will name 25-man squads for 2009. Any player selected outside the squad will wear an unnamed shirt numbered between 30 and 40.
If that player makes six or more first-team papearances, however, he will be given a shirt bearing his name and a number (between 26 and 30).
