Lock Lane aim to topple Sharks

CASTLEFORD Lock Lane will aim to pull off another cup upset when they visit Shaw Cross Sharks in the preliminary round of the Carnegie RL Challenge Cup on Saturday.
Lane, who are in National Conference League Division Two, will hope to repeat their recent 16-12 win over Dudley Hill in the BARLA National Cup second round.
Like Dudley Hill, Shaw Cross are in Division One of the Conference League.
Shaw Cross are second bottom in the table but they improved their chances of avoiding relegation with last Saturday's 16-13 home win over Castleford Panthers.
The winners of the Shaw Cross-Lock Lane tie will visit Waterhead in round one.
Saturday's other preliminary round ties include Ovenden v Oulton Raiders, Siddal v Normanton Knights and Stanley Rangers v Leigh Miners Rangers.
Castleford Panthers and Summer Conference outfit Featherstone Lions have received byes into round one.
Panthers will host the winners of the tie between Stanley Rangers and Leigh Miners Rangers and Lions have a home game against Hull University.
First round matches are scheduled for the weekend of January 24-25.
