LANE eased through to the Castleford and District Cup final by winning an entertaining semi-final.
They never looked back after going ahead with a first minute try from centre Liam Hands.
Good work from Lidbury, Josh Wilkes and Morse and a neat pass from Jordan Hart then saw Lane's Ryan Fong collect his first score.
Lane were driven back after c
onceding silly penalties and Smawthorne capitalised by scoring at the corner.
However, Lane soon stretched their lead when they took advantage of a dropped ball for Wilkes to power his way over.
Jarron Southernwood's 50-yard break and a quick play the ball then saw Luke Jowett grab his first try before a clever scrum move enabled Fong to score his second.
Strong running from Tonks, Lamb and Slater provided the platform for Holmes, Southernwood and Hands to combine to send in Jowett for his second.
In the second-half, a break by Davies and a short pass from Holmes led to Fong completing his hat-trick with a 30-yard run and Hart converting.
Good play from the re-start by Sharpe, Sugden and Pilmoor saw Hart convert his own try after dummying his way over from 20 yards out.
Lane rounded things off when quick thinking from Hands resulted in Holmes crossing at the corner.
